The main purpose in a lot of these promotions is pushing the stock on a constant feed of "impending announcements", letters of intent, rumoured contracts etc. Then, after you have looked and looked, and the stock starts to move, you jump in, pushing the next guy forwards, onwards and upwards. Just as you are buying in, those feeding the news and rumours step up to the trough to sell you their paper. By year end, when the promo is over, you finally realize what a sucker you have become......R
