ORB's already coughed up $190M along with teleglobe and their malaysian affliate, TRI. by previously spinning off orbcomm as a separate entity (and thus, removing their operating losses from ORB's bottom line), i'd have to think the risk is pretty much spread around. of course, orbcomm will have to rely heavily on their strategic partners (including ORB) for their expertise in design, construction, and operation, not to mention those pegasus and taurus rockets. that adds shekels to ORB's coffers. however, if by "impact" you meant ORB's future stock price, i really don't have a clue. except to venture that it might add several tenths to ORB's beta. -chris.
