ALL / Clipped in Alberta

Was just listening to our local weather report. I've been informed to be aware of the "Alberta Clipper" which is headed our way. I'm not sure if I should get out the national guard with anti-aircraft guns, buy an airline ticket, put a zipper on my pockets or, get my long underwear out. A firetruck just passed the house and I got concerned. Thought maybe it already was a warning siren, then remembered the reporter said we wouldn't be hit until Thursday.

Us mountain folk take these things kind of seriously. I took the padlock off the outhouse door so it could be used by anyone in case of emergency. Even left an old Sears catalog in case one got snowed in. Can't be to careless these days.

I don't know why Albertians have big hearts. It must be that Christmas is a time of care and giving. So, we folk here in my region, want to express our sincere gratitude to all of you in Alberta for sending and sharing the Alberta Clipper with us.

All this brings one thought to mind. I want to take this time to wish all (no matter where they are) a very happy holiday period. And speaking of clippers, say a little prayer for the great Yankee Clipper. Say it ain't so Joe.

(Alberta Clipper is a weather front formed over Alberta and sent our way. It is to result in colder temperatures in the very low 30's "F")

PS: We are still waiting for the first sign of snow here.
