So, do you feel that the feature set of ALL operating systems (Windows, BeOS, MacOS, Linux, etc) should be frozen right now, so no additions can be made? I'm not suggesting you are saying this. I'm just asking your opinion

No.

I think that you can look at ANY functional addition to an OS and find another business that is hurts. It's just that some businesses cry louder than others.

Motivation enters the picture. Just like any activity, something which is legal in one context can be illegal in another context. If Microsoft is gluing things together for the express purpose of 'undermining' another company which poses a threat to their monopoly as opposed to, say, enhancing the user experience then they may be breaking the law.
