Since I haven't seen it posted here, I just thought I'd contribute some info on Qwest I aquired while doing due diligence on them. Qwest's is buying up railroad right of way with the intention of laying fiber-optic network cable across the country. Since railroads are in decline, this can be aquired very cheaply compared to other methods, and railroads already go to all major metropolitan areas, often by the most direct route. It also suggests the possibility of trenching and laying cable from a rail-mounted automated machine, another great money saver.
All of this is potential, kinda like GMGC! Still, I wish I'd gone long on Qwest when I was thinking about it. It's STILL probably a great long. If GMGC would just make me some money...

Yours,
Chris Parson
