''These sales just don't look that big,'' Bob Gabele, president of CDA/Investnet, said when Dell initially disclosed plans for the sales with the SEC. CDA/Investnet, of Rockville, Maryland, tracks insider buying and selling.

After Dell filed his intention to sell the stock, a company spokesman said Dell sells shares to diversify his portfolio.

Dell has routinely sold stock in the past. He sold 54.4 million split-adjusted shares in 1994 and 46.8 million in 1995, according to data provided by CDA/Investnet....'
