KJ,

I guess I don't read the the Prisa release the same way that you do. I'm not sure SGI had much of a say in what equipment Prisa used for their solution. My speculation is that SGI simply wanted a solution that worked, and it was up to Prisa to put all the pieces together. (The actual scenario could have been reversed too, where Prisa approached SGI with their solution.)

If Ancor's switch was indeed chosen over Brocade's SilkWorm for this application, I suspect that it had a lot to do with the low price of the MKII-8. Performance may have been a factor, but price was probably the biggest argument in Ancor's favor. (Brocade's 8-port SilkWorm Express is a depopulated SilkWorm, which makes it difficult to cut costs.) Depending on the details, this may mark the first time in a long time that Ancor was first to market with a product that customers really wanted.

Craig
