>>Also, how can you equate the quality of a thread's posts with the quality of the company. Winspear management has no connection with the Winspear thread whatsoever.<<

etc. that is exactly the point. It becomes a pain in the a## when my dd has to include the possibility that a company thread is being "worked" by professional hypsters who are there boost the stock and shout down detractors. It's a sure signal to steer clear.

Maybe I should have been more "sensitive" in my post. No offense was intended. Gold Price Monitor is another thread whose quality has been diminished by "True Believers" who perceive themselves to be leading the charge in the "Good Fight", defending the faith, rather than engaging in a critical analyses and allowing the conclusions to lead where they may.

I am not interested in the "Good Fight" when it comes to playing the markets. I want to make money, period. True Believers, Cheerleaders, Defenders, relentless Hypsters, Goldbugs, they are all a major pain in the ass, in my book.

Most of us already know about the tremendous upside when we come to a thread. We know about the "cone" theory, the 100-200 million tons, the
$30-$50 target, yada yada. If the technical info bears repeating, great.

But the question that needs to be continually be asked is "what can go wrong?" Because if ya ain't looking for it, good chance it will take half your a## off with it when it comes.

Yeah, maybe some people are a pain in the ass. They think they can read the future in their tea leaves, or they post negative comments gratuitously without supporting argument. But what is even more of a pain-in-the-ass is to read the 10 rants that follow each of these posts. Often the detractors are just posting to piss-off the "defenders of the faith".

I know Tomato used to be a regular on this thread. Last week he had some very thoughtful comments to make on Winspear, and I noticed he didn't even bother to post them on this thread. He put them on Tromp's thread instead, a good choice on his part.

I'm going back to read some of the material posted here by Vaughn and Tromp and some others, so I'll get off my soapbox until I'm qualified to post something more pertinent to this stock. I hope you'll excuse the intrusion.

- Tom
