Jim Lamb <<BigK,I would much appreciate further thoughts about your prediction of a 3/1 split next Jan.>>

Jim: Historically, PFE splits 2-1 when its reaches and holds the 80 level....bringing the stock price back to the 40 level.

If PFE can reach and hold the 120 level in early January, I anticipate that the PFE Board will once again try to bring the price back to the 40s....thus, a 3-1 split. This split would be similar to WLA's 3-1 split that occurred in 1998. The recent SGP 2-1 split and MRK 2-1 split announcement have also set Pharma precedents for PFE.

The PFE split would be just in time to "Celebrex" the 150th anniversary of PFE at the 1999 Annual Meeting. It should be noted that a 3-1 split is the equivalent of receiving three $10 bills for a $30 check.

Then again, it can't hurt...PFE's three recent largest growth years have occurred during split years. Listed below is a summary of PFE's price during the last 12 years including the split years of 1991, 1995 and 1997.

Have PFun!
