There is an immense amount of cash sitting in the sidelines right now. Something like $1.4-1.5 trillion in money markets and mutual-fund cash positions, at least some of which will be looking to get into equities on a substantial dip (according to AMG Data). I think the pros have been looking for something like the impeachment to weaken the market and get a buying opportunity. A lot of them missed the Oct-Nov rally. My plan is to be patient through the impeachment fallout; then I expect to have an opportunity to buy aggressively in techs (and selectively in financials, transports, and maybe energy) and ride them up with on wave of buyers. My bet is that it'll pay to have plenty of cash on hand at the end of this week and next week as the House works through the impeachment process. I'm proceeding very conservatively in the meantime.
