Chirstian clarity, Rev. Pilch? Is it this clarity that gives your views on political hygiene such force?
So, Rev. Pilch, great theologian that you are, perhaps you'd care to interpret some verses a bit more mainstream than your ever popular Leviticus. Just for amusement, of course.
Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye. Matthew 7:1-5
What are we to make of that one, Rev. Pilch? You do seem to be so very judgemental about people with the wrong political views. Are your views perhaps so inerrant? It all seems quite curious to me. You seem almost like a Pharisee to me, with your stentorious prescriptions.
..And the scribes and the Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. That's another one that seems a bit more mainstream than old Leviticus. You know better, of course, Rev. Pilch. And I'm sure you'll be quite willing to inform us all at great length of my error in taking these verses more seriously than you perpetual so-called Christian sermons. I eagerly await your next theological treatise. |
