Alexa--

Problem is, if you actually live in Milan it's practically impossible to get tickets to Scala. I usually manage to go once or twice a year, but that's just luck. For awhile a friend of mine had an in with the chief usher, and the right bribe would get one a place in the Royal Box, but that hasn't worked for several years now.

If you don't live here you can stay in a hotel on your visit, and reception will get the tickets for you. Or if you live in another Ialian city you can join some sort of opera association that arranges trips four or five times a year.

But if you're Milanese and want a subscription, your grandparents had better have had one, and had better have kept it up and passed it on.
