No, we probably won't see wednesday evening. A corporation must notify its shareholders at least 20 days in advance of any merger vote. From my perspective, it may have been important to Agouron to have any merger (whether with Dupont or imnr) voted on and approved at the annual meeting. Thus, notices would have had to been mailed to shareholders by November 27. There's no urgency anymore relative to the annual meeting date. If any merger happens, the timing won't be driven by anything, so the announcement could come at any time...December, January, July, etc.
