I agree the best way to install DOS without putting
NT in jeopardy is to pull the plug on NT.

Yes, i'm most comfortable with the safest way...not ready for fancy footwork...

Award bios can not boot floppy and slave IDE...if
this is the case with the ASUS or AOPEN? one would have to swap cables for
the install.

I'll check on Aopen site for slave boot capability but swapping cables seems safe too...

PQ DOS
I've been meaning to call PQ and will in the AM. I'll ask about their version DOS. I was more or less set on MS DOS but your points about drivers and GUI for w98 are well taken.I neglected to really consider the advantages ( for me,especially) of using PM in a GUI even without their Dos stuff.

Have you indicated the format for the NT installation?
NT installed on the primary channel master position in first of 2 partitions formated NTFS.
And I do plan to utilize NTFSDOS. It's OK for NTFSdos to reside with w98 or msdos on the other drive?

two partitions on the NT drive
and want to preserve the NT drive letters as C then D.

Yes 2 partitions called c and d would be clear if they remained as such. I assumed W98 could only be formated in FAT16 or 32.... no?.

Excellent post ZP
Thanks
Clarence
