Re: I'm no investment advisor. But I will say, be very careful when you ask for investment advice from someone like Dale J.

Quicksand, he didn't ask me for investment advice. He asked me my opinion about SUNW, as he has asked others. He evidently recognized the wisdom in asking more than one person. If he had asked me for investment advice I would have needed to know his age, goals, fixed income, fixed bills etc…

Here read it again: Message 6835661 (if you can)

RE: Anyone who understands the computer business even a little bit understands that the possibility that Dell or anyone else will ship "powerful servers running Windows 2000" by June 1999 is precisely zero, unless we're talking beta software which hardly constitutes competition.

Did it ever occur to you that schedules can be moved up. Intel demonstrated this as AMD increased competitive pressure. Anyway whether Windows 2000 is released in 7 instead of 6 months is not of monumental consequence. Some of you guys are so one-dimensional. I have to literally spell things out for you.

RE:Dale demonstrates almost every time he opens his mouth that he knows nothing at all about the computer industry.

No, but we did establish that you need a remedial reading and comprehension course.

RE:Of course, no one knows anything in markets, and even random comments such as Dale's can always prove right. But if you're playing the (in this case overwhelming) odds, SUNW is extremely well-positioned to be the dominant high-end server supplier through 1999 and well into 2000...at least.

You missed the point. Intel/MSFT will be a bigger and bigger player. Intel/MSFT will become a larger percentage of all servers. The percentage of high-end servers that are not INTC/MSFT based will become smaller IMO. So to say SUNW will dominate the very high end market is not saying that much.

RE:I'm not giving you investment advice. I am advising you to consider the source when someone else does.

Quicksand, I didn't give him any investment advice. I merely answered his question. Get your big brother and have him read it for you: Message 6835661
