Mattie, This is one of those amazing things that irritates me. ~Ninty years after Pavlov won the Nobel prize for his "conditioned reflex" thesis, WS applies it to Globex.

German DAX defies bears, Wall Street and climbs
FRANKFURT, Dec 15 (Reuters) - Germany's blue-chip Xetra DAX index rose over one percent on Tuesday defying bearish market sentiment of the past week and shrugging off falls in New York and Tokyo as investors took heart from a rise in futures.

The S&P Globex 500 March future contract, which is considered to be an indicator for Wall Street's direction, was up 10.40 points.

''We underperformed last week and although nothing has actually happened to change basic sentiment, the market is relieved to see S&P futures going higher at last,'' a trader at a bank in Frankfurt said.

I wish they would ban Globex trading. I don't think it is fair to traders, overall.
