Did anyone see the promising news on Gene Therapy, featured on CBS news last night by Dan Rather. Researchers feel that they could reverse muscle deterioration in older individuals by injecting genes directly into the muscles. Older mice (80 human years) injected with the gene could perform at the level of a 20 year old. HUMAN TESTING IS TO BEGIN NEXT YEAR. They claimed that because mice have a very similar muscle mass as humans they foresee no potential problems. Their biggest concern, is that because the gene is undetectable in testing it will be abused by athletes. RT
