All this over a lie and some noontime nookie in the Whitehouse. This is where we have the disagreement. I understand how you feel. As a matter of fact, I used to feel the same way. See, in my view, it wasn't a "lie" and "some noontime nookie", it was perjury. It was a felony. But, you are entitled to your opinion.
I can say only this: if (God forbid) you are ever standing in front of a judge, and the judge has some physical evidence that you were involved in a felony, and you are being asked specific questions, under oath, by the judge, about your culpability in said felonious act, I would not, if I were you, say,
"So what? What's the big deal, anyway? Can't you just forgive me and let me get on with my life?"
Because the judge might think maybe you really did do it. And that maybe you have failed to take responsibility for your actions. And he might think that you are probably guilty of other stuff that he doesn't know about.
And you might get convicted, and you might go to jail.
Get real?
I'll tell ya what's real. Telling the truth is the better choice. Jail is very real. And jail is a Very Bad Place. You can trust ol' TLC on that. You don't want to go there. Nope. |
