Until now, confirming the identity of a person has always been
a thorny problem for organizations providing services to consumers. The lack of accurate identity authentication has caused considerable losses to service providers in various industries. These losses are not always quantifiable, however the following are worth mentioning:

"In the credit card industry: Canadian Bankers Association
(CBA) reported a loss in excess of 75 million dollars due to
fraudulent activities for some 25 million cards issued during
1993, or an average of 3 dollars per card."

"In cellular telecommunications, Bell Mobility has decided to
withdraw three cellular communications centres in the United
States because of losses caused by cellular 'frequency
hackers'. A loss of some 460 million dollars had been reported
for 1994."

"Industrial espionage, information piracy, unauthorized access
to information systems and frauds in payment cards industry
(credit or debit) keep on proliferating at an uncontrollable rate
and losses caused by these fraudulent activities have
reached an alarming level. Although no one has been in the
position to accurately evaluate the financial damage caused
by frauds, which is not always quantifiable, the news media
conservatively estimates a loss of several hundred millions of
dollars annually around the world.

The market is good for Delsecur. We will see later ...
