Creative did not want to buy 3Dfx. They bought equity in 3Dfx to prevent the possibility of Diamond from buying out 3Dfx. 3Dfx wants to be in the driver's seat and that would not have been possible with Creative. I do kinda feel sorry for Metabyte, Quantum3D, and the like. BTW, whatever happend to Herculese Graphics?
