Adrenalin Interactive Announces Agreement to Develop DVD Games for VM Lab's NUON Technology 12/15/98 Business Wire (Copyright (c) 1998, Business Wire) LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 15, 1998--Adrenalin Interactive Inc., (Nasdaq:ADRN) announced today that it has signed a Developer Agreement with VM Labs to develop games for their NUON technology. NUON-enhanced DVD players will allow users to enjoy high-performance video games, educational and reference applications, in addition to the standard movies and audio discs playable on current systems. Adrenalin is also contracted to develop prototypes of new games to be played on the first products, slated to be released in 1999. It is anticipated that groundbreaking prototype work will lead to full game development for publishers realizing the enormous market potential for NUON interactive software.
Adrenalin has developed top-selling games for almost every new video game systems, starting with Q*bert on Atari, and then Nintendo, Sega, PC, Mac, and now sports games on Sony PlayStation. Adrenalin will adapt its technology to the NUON architecture, reflecting the latest advances in 3D graphic entertainment in the living room. Details of the new prototypes will be announced at CES in January.
VM Labs continues to sign top consumer electronics manufacturers to produce hardware employing NUON technology. NUON technology will replace the MPEG decoder chip currently found in digital video products. The powerful NUON processor provides the raw horsepower to decode digital video and audio, while delivering advanced trick modes and an enhanced user interface. Consumers will not only be able to play movies and audio discs on their systems, but can enjoy high-performance video games, educational and reference applications, all with highly sophisticated film quality 3-D graphics. A full range of NUON peripherals will include a variety of interactive controller devices, as well as an Internet kit to add functions such as Web browsing and e-mail.
