I think Microsoft is gluing things together in an effort to make their product more valuable and attractive to consumers. Does this hurt its competitors? Of course! That's how business works.

You are welcome to your beliefs on the matter, of course. There's been a lot of testimony supporting the opposite conclusion, and Dr. Felten just testified that the gluing of IE 4.0 into Windows 98, as opposed to just providing it as a removable application, added no material benefit to the consumer, and simply prevented the consumer from using Netscape Navigator.
