The order is significant in that it marks a step toward the company's stated intention of offering true turn-key solutions as part of their line of Voice over IP products and services, following the model established by companies like EDS, SAIC and Computer Associates. Frank Peters, chairman and CEO said, "One of our corporate goals is to make our technology pain-free for our customers. In other words, we don't think your average businessman should have to become an IP expert to reap the benefits from upgrading to our equipment and system. Our goal is to deliver goods and services that meet the customer's needs, save him money and make his life easier, not more complicated." Peters went on to say, "At long last we're seeing the market open up for Voice over IP products. After years of excitement within the industry and analysts touting the future of Voice over the Internet, ordinary businesses are starting to see that it's real and they can save some real money by going with these products. Our Tempest System offers a stable, flexible line of products and services to help businesses and professionals join in this latest communication revolution." Peter Buswell, Franklin's president and COO adds, "We've seen significant growth in revenues for each of the last three quarters. Revenues for the last quarter were over $900,000; we are on target for surpassing that nicely for the quarter ending December 31st. When I joined Franklin in July, a quarter of a million dollar deal would have been a monumental accomplishment. I am delighted that now we can view this as a nice business transaction, amid a steady influx of other nice business transactions." EDS is a registered symbol of Electronic Data Systems Corp.
