[US WEST and ADSL:] Bob -- I believe US West was the last of the RBOCs to announce ADSL trials. I've found their PR blurb, indicating both ADSL and HDSL, and it looks as though PairGain supplies the HDSL and Westell the ADSL. No DMT yet. Pat <<<!NTERPRISEr, the data networking arm of U S WEST Communications, was awarded "Best of Show" recognition at the Networld Interop Conference for its successful technical trial of high-speed access to corporate Intranets, !NTERACT, and the Internet developed in partnership with Cisco Systems, PairGain Technologies and Westell. The trial focuses on two Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) technologies that enable data transmission more than fifty times faster than the best analog modems. During trials in Boulder-Denver and Minneapolis-St. Paul, selected users connected to the public Internet and to U S WEST's corporate network at speeds up to 1.544 megabits per second. An Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) and single-pair High-bit-rate Digital Subscriber Line (HDSL) product suite, complete with fully-finished management services based on the technical trial, will be available in selected markets in 1997.>>>
