Actually this is OK. It is not a normal pattern for Sun because in the
past after the earnings the stock either has gone through the roof if
it had not performed great prior to the earnings (such as this last
earnings report that just came out) or the price went down drastically
after the great earnings report (like Q3's report - but the stock had
gone up drastically prior to the report). In this case the stock is
behaving more normal and I rather see it trade in the $30-$32 range
and go up gradually rather than going up quickly causing to attract a
lot of momentum players bringing (as in the words of Alan G) 'irrational
exuberance' to the stock (causing the price to be extremly volatile).
In the short run I can see Sun gradually going toward $40 before it
settles around $35-$36 range. Of course I may very well be wrong.
But I am not concerned about the short term at all. I am looking for
the stock to be around $60 or more by the year end, early 1998 (next
year at this time).
