Well; even if we aren't, Short MDY, and go long Spy, then close the one that seems wrong as a trend sets in. If you Long Spy and short MDY, over time you can't get hurt, leg out of one on strong trends. Be in both on mixed signals. ( allocate the same cash amount for each position when in both ) MDY will always trail SPY over any extended period of time, all other things equal the spread gives you an edge.
