Pat: It's a good idea to know something about technical analysis. There are many good books out there on the subject. One that I would recommend for starters is by William O'Neil, "How To Make Money In Stocks". The book is a best-seller, an easy read, and can teach you a thing or two about investing by using technical indicators. O'Neil is the founder of Investor's Daily and he is considered by many to be one of the best techies ever. But don't get too carried away. Remember the famous line by Jesse Livermore, " It never is the thinking that makes big money, it's the sitting."
