Very well said! One thing though I am confused, why Metz, Rogers,
and EG (well not so much EG anymore because of her wild wild
predictions!) still do get attention. Jimmy Rogers keeps appearing on
CNBC every Friday morning on Sqwak Box scaring everyone and
telling everyone that the sky is falling. He has been doing so ever
since DOW was (if I am not mistaking) around 4200. I even sent an
email to Mark Hanes at Sqwak Box asking him why they keep
bringing him on the show and also asked him when they say he is
from the Rogers Holding investment can they elaborate on that
investment fund! I got a reply back that Rogers dont tell them what
his holding are (!) and that the reason they bring him on the show is
because of his knowledge for international investing and that they
get letters from people wanting him to be on the show! Well I really
want to know what was last years return of Rogers Holding fund!
As for Michael Metz. He is something else! I can never understand
what he is talking about when he literally says the sky is falling!!
I am a software engineer and dont have an economics degree and
may not have as much experience as these analysts but even I
know that things are different in the 90's. The market and US
corporations dont rely on US economy anymore. It is a global market.
and US corporations are the prime supplier of world's needs. So if
Metz and Rogers are so much in favor of oversees how can they
possibly say that US corporations will go down BIG TIME!!! And now
Metz is saying Gold will be $500/ounce?!! Oh come on Metz!
Where is the inflation to support your theory! Metz
said this on CNN over a year ago and I hope people who listened to
him did not actually go any further and actually investing in Gold!
His target date was December of 1995. Metz has said this several
times in 1995 and 1996, and it seems like everytime he says that the
price goes down BIG TIME! Maybe he is hoping for some
suckers to listen and buy his OWN gold!
What is his target date of gold reaching $500 now?!

I know that if in my position I do something wrong and design a
software that does not work as planned, I maybe still given another
chance, but if my design does not work again I maybe asked to
either leave or my performance review would be terrible and no one
would trust my designs. So Why media and people pay attention to
Metz sort of analysts? I suppose the answer maybe because of the
same reason they listen and pay attention to Oral Roberts when he
claimed God would take him away unless people come up with 8
million dollars! Or because of the same reason as Jim and Tammy
Baker, or when Jimmy swagert (sp?) preaches against adultry and he
is caught in a cheap motel room with a prostitute and then goes up
on TV and cries and people forgive him and he does it again a few
months later. He goes on TV again and cries for forgiveness and
people still listened to him and sent him money. But only to learn a
few months later that he is caught again soliciting a prostitute! And
you know the funny part people still forgave him and he still
preaches Bilble! Boy I tell you people are sure interesting!

I for one look at Rogers, Metz and E.G as sort of like a bad 3
stooges movie and try to change the channel right away. An
obnoxious TV commercial sometimes is much better than a bad 3
stooges movie!
