Interesting in-between the lines reading. Regarding the operation at the well - exactly what personnel is on hand who are the employees of Elk Resources.

I don't have the answer.

I know, at least the original rig, was provided by Nabors. Do they provide working crews to work the rig? Elk (or another company in the venture) must have at least one professional on the scene, co-ordinating data with the staff at the head office in Calgary. What type organization does exist at the well-site.

Also, I was under the understanding that Elk was the designated operator primarily because they had an existing subsidiary registered to do business in the U.S. Everything we see presented by Elk Resources, just might not be material prepared by Elk themselves.

News releases that have been issued to update the status of the well fire, and getting it under control, is one thing. Interpetation of data from the wellsite is another matter. In other words, one of the more qualified and experienced partners in this joint venture might be doing the heavyweight work in the analysis and interpetation of the well. Yes, it is a joint venture where the entire group decides the direction of the venture -- but still, I assume there is a leader among the group that is leading the pack.

What's your (or anyone's) understanding (without guessing) behind the support of operations at Lost Hills. For those oilfield personnel who participate here, what is considered the norm for organization in the drilling of a joint venture well such as this one.
