More often then not recently, if AMZN is up $7 at noon, it's going to be up at least another $7 by the close. I'd hazard a guess it's daytraders sitting around waiting to see which way it'll break today, then jumping on the bandwagon and exaggerating the move. Beats me what causes the initial spike though. James.
