The impeachment will be a one day effect, just compare the reaction of market
between Monday and Tuesday you will see. There is no big difference whether
Gore or Clinton is the president, business as usual. So the effect of impeachment will
be pretty limited and short life. If the impeachment goes through, Gore will be the biggest winner, and which will push hime into the white house one year earlier, and
I do not expect a republican president for the next 9 years, and the republican may
lose big in the next election of congress. Because people see the real face of republicans and will not forget it till the next election is over. Polls after polls , we saw that people do not want the president to be impeached, and republicans just do the other way.People elected the republican congress men to serve the people, and now they are doing the opposite , the consequence is very clear. The votes will talk in the next election.
Basically, the sex secandal is a private matter and should be resolved privately between
the president and his wife. So, congress should not investigate this case at the first place, and that is protected by the constution, and no exception to the president, his right of privacy is also protected by the constution. Can you imagine the police will
investigate you just because you have a girl friend ? Can you imagine the CEO of a company will be fired just because he had a girl friend ? I do no thinkt this should happen
in a democratic society, but unfortunately, it is happening now . To me, the impeachment looks like the republican just
executed the president privately / secretly, they do not have to hear the voice of the people , who gave them the power which they are abusing.
I can not imagine what will happen if the standard of the impeachment is set so low
. Whenever you have a girl friend, the congress will investigate you, whenever
you talk something which the leader of the opposite party does not like, the congress will
investigate you ....etc, the president will be a hostage of the congress, and just cant not function normally anymore. This is very sad and the death of the democratic system. The Republican congress now claim that they do not have to hear the voice of people anymore.
I think people should let their voice be heard, maybe a special session should be
set , let people vote to have all these republican congress be impeached out of the house first. The president just being executed by these republican congress men
where more than 70% of the people said do not impeach.
