Some thoughts on short interest from Yahoo. by: JSpeidel7 (46/M) 7778 of 7778 Yorner, I agree that shorts should cover for their own protection. If they wait for an announcement, the upward price movement will be accentuated by a rush to cover at that time. Another short interest report may be out soon. Some shorts may be worried about the report. If short interest is very high, they may realize that there would be many others scrambling to cover when major news is released. Its getting very risky to be short. A major contract or development could come at any time.
