Why should they be checked? Where can they run? Why should they do what isn't in their interest? They do what is in the people's interest or they don't stay in business, rather, like Ma Bell, they lose money and die. And they don't die because of government. Government creates laws to protect monopoly from dying. They don't teach you that because it doesn't maintain the protection myth and it doesn't sell well. The truth never does.
It is always surprising to me that anyone would distrust corporations, but trust government. That's totally inconsistent. That's evidence of non-thinking. That is actually saying that corporations are not totally dedicated to their greedy ends. Haven't you got it yet? It is in your interest that the corporations pursue their own greedy ends. That takes some thought since our society programs everyone to believe that what you should be avoiding is the pursuit of your own greedy ends. It is only that effort that achieves the greatest good for everyone. Hard to see, isn't it? Not part of the university curriculum. Instead what we have is "your money is evil and should be taxed to give to the poor, but mine is good and if you try to take it, I'll shoot you down like a dirty dog". What we have is a nation of hypocrites. That condition is not intrinsic, but it's an outcome of empowered weaklings through government entitlement.
The government doesn't do what is in the people's interest. Government doesn't generate any wealth, they only spend it. Government doesn't make wealth creation more effective, they make it inefficient and in many cases like the Soviet Union, bust it down to the Stone Age, make the situation so grim that it is the government that ends up liquidated. The entire history of any country in the world is a repetition of this. Government still exists only because civilization is finally coming out of the primitive level.
There are many indolent beneficiaries of government's largesse who maintain the belief that we must have the protection. Lots of useless eaters who make life miserable especially for the weak and helpless. That's what is deemed the sovereign protectorate. How is that any different from feudalism or monarchy? If the poor only knew just to what extent the government has achieved its goal of maintaining poverty under the intent of redistribution of wealth, the people would storm the bastille. Isn't that fair, steal from the rich to give to the poor? Doesn't such a strategy increase the general welfare rolls? |
