Sorry for the attitude earlier.
I only had a moment to check the Yahoo and SI boards & pasted pretty much the same post to both, Millionairess, so you didn't see it anywhere else, although I would probably have pasted it to Raging Bull and MFool if I had time.
response: I've never shorted CMGI, but if I did it would just be a short term trade to catch a correction on CMGI's relentless march higher. I own 1k shares now.
response: I know CMGI well, probably too well. I am familiar with every one of the 32+/- companies in their stable, and believe wholeheartedly in the company's future. I've been trading and/or holding CMGI for almost a year. The problem is that the stock has me dumbfounded time and time again. If I was an investor, it would have been the easiest call I've ever seen, a long term buy and hold last spring. But since I'm a trader, I've tried to be long for the good runs, and out for the rest. It hasn't worked out too well, that's why the attitude ... sorry.
response: Analysts' opinions are hugely important, not just to this stock, that's not my opinion, it's fact. Whether or not they know squat, share volumes trade based on them, and volumes move stock prices, so like it or not, if analysts don't recognize that CMGI is primarily a venture capital firm in business to create investment gains, not operating earnings, it's going to hold the stock back, and we all suffer as a result.
Millionairess, I read the responses, and no, I'm not on a mission, just having a bad day, sorry. And Wingman, you are the smarter one, I'm just a crappy trader, sorry. Others, please forgive the attitude and understand that I join you in great anticipation for CMG tomorrow.
Happy Holidays,
