Options vs. stocks:

I think that futures/options & stocks all have advantages & disadvantages. I don't want to trade options, I just wanted to have a low-cost, highly leveraged position moving into Y2K.

Cost per $6.25 call = .13 x 5000 ounces = $650 for 5000 ounce contract, good until Nov. 99

Now look at it's value assuming different silver prices:
Less than $6.25: $0
$7.25: $5,000
$8.25: $10,000
$12.25: $30,000

Naturally the odds/risk/reward situation is highly complicated and I don't know enough to actively trade options. I just wanted to get 1-year of "insurance".

I don't know of any silver stocks that offer that kind of leverage, although on the other hand most mining cos will not go bankrupt ($0) if silver doesn't go over $6.25!

Good luck,

THC
