John L. / Old Russia I was talking with a small company CEO about six months ago and he commented to me that another big problem with operations over there is the Russian Mafia. He said that problem was as large a negative factor as the current economics there. International stability - that's a huge concern and not one to be brushed away lightly. Another thing, if you are going to joint venture with a Russian company, you had better be 100% satisfied that it is a clean operation. I don't know of any one company who is or has been active there, whose shares have not been clobbered since the first of the year. The oil and gas sector is down, probably about 40%, but these guys are double that.
