Steven - I think the test is whether the plaintiff has been exposed to 'hatred, ridicule, or contempt' (or is that slander?) In the States it's apparently harder to make libel or slander stick - I wondered after O.J.'s acquittal on the criminal charge why he didn't sue just about everyone - but was told that it is very hard indeed to get a verdict in the States (would have been tricky for OJ anyway) E
