Some of the MCI/EDS stuff makes sense, some dosen't. EDS outsourced a lot of its voice network to Sprint a few years back. I'm not sure what that relationship is today. The EDS data network, EDS*Net, is still huge and might be a target for this alliance. SystemsHouse has been a pretty good competitor, but they are noted for buying contracts, then missing on performance and getting tossed out. I personally followed them twice, once after losing to them on the initial bid. Not much outside the US (they had a disaster in Mexico a couple of years ago, which might make them a little gun shy).
