Rory, once it goes to the Senate, that body can end the whole thing by a resolution passed by a simple majority. That would take six Republicans in addition to all the Democrats. If they know they can't get the 2/3 to remove him from office, it seems not much of a stretch to get six who would like to resolve it quickly.
