Microwave Power wins $39 mln order to from Lucent
HAUPPAUGE, N.Y., Dec 15 (Reuters) - Microwave Power Devices, Inc. (Nasdaq:MPDI - news) said on Tuesday it has been awarded an estimated $39 million order to supply highly linear, single channel, cellular CDMA amplifiers to Lucent Technologies (NYSE:LU - news).
Microwave Power, which makes products for the wireless telecommunications industry, said the amplifiers are predominantly for international use in Lucent's cellular CDMA wireless telecommunications base stations.
With the receipt of this order, Microwave Power Devices said its backlog totals about $128 million, a record level for the company.
Deliveries have already begun under this consignment order, the company said, and multiyear shipments are expected, the company said.
Officials for Microwave Power Devices were not immediately available to comment further on the order.

I guess these are single channel amplifiers and SPCT specializes in multi-channel amplifiers but it sure would be nice to see SPCT getting some new contracts.
