Tyler, Thanks for your response - to the point, analytical, no hype. I appreciate it. Now for some comments:
1. I'm impressed with the versality of Livelink. It has the database features of Lotus Notes, but has the advantage of being an open system and web compatible, and looks like it may be easier to use - I've been involved in Lotus Notes database development and obviously am speaking from experience.
2. Its datamining capabilities are big plus.
3. It also has the document control and access features for the storage, distribution and control of drawings - features of databases such as Metaphase.
4. It looks like a high quality, yet inexpensive one stop solution for intranets, extranets, data mining, and data/drawing wharehousing.
5. Once some big companies use it and are happy, others will quickly follow.
6. Based on this, I established an initial position today and will most likely add to it. I'm not sure how quickly this will move - but it should move significantly imo
