<The 533 MHz speed is obviously intended for a 133 MHz bus, but the chipset for 133 MHz bus is not scheduled to appear until at least June,>

The 533 MHz Katmai is slated for a second-quarter introduction. Since June is in the 2nd quarter, it seems that the 533 MHz Katmai will indeed be released at the same time as the 133 MHz Camino chipset.

<Such an acceleration is unlikely, OEM's are already reeling from the 4-month lifetime of recent Intel chipsets.>

I think Intel already knows about this problem and is planning on extending the lifetime of each chipset in its roadmap, starting with Camino.

Then again, I don't know where you got the "4-month lifetime" figure from. The 440BX chipset was released back in mid-April of this year, and will continue to be Intel's top-of-the-line for desktops until June of next year. That's a pretty nice lifespan for a chipset.
