It's really interesting. I think its in Saadam's best interest to keep a weakling like Clinton in office. So when it looks like his old friend is going out, Saadam calls up and says, "Hey big Bill, I'll help prolong the impeachment process and maybe you'll sneak out of it. How amazing that all the aircraft carriers were out of the harbor at the time of the attack. Incidentally, in a naval battle, your aircraft carriers are the key to victory.
Roosevelt needed a reason to inflame the American people and get them off the "isolationist" sentiment that at the time it prevailed.
And what about Vietnam.... All those American soldiers killed and wounded, what difference was made, at the time and/or now...
