Toni, ya got me! Shouldn't have come as a surprise. In Resound's
quaterly earnings release (10/21/98) they even said:

"We are moving forward with our strategy to divest the retail
portion of the Viennatone business and are confident that the sale
will be final in the fourth quarter of 1998," said ReSound President
and CEO Russell D. Hays. "As for the export portion of the
business, we are evaluating our strategic options and will conclude
on one of these options by the first quarter of 1999."

Volume in the stock is (of course) very thin. Went down on nothing and
came back on nothing:

Just another case where Nasdaq MM's don't really make a market. I have
not heard anything, but getting rid of the old line while coming to
market with the new DSP hearing aids seems really cool.

I saw the news...so why doesn't everyone like it? Seems like an
astute thing to do...sell a unit to Amplifon and get ReSound products
sold thruout Europe...seems like it should go straight to the bottom
line...what have you heard????

If more news/comment stories break on this, I will post them to you.
How often do you read this thread now?
