AMZN has now added more "value" in one day ($2.7 billion) than the entire market cap of either of its more concrete rivals BGP or BKS. To put it another way, 18 months ago (pre AMZN) the book retailing business as judged by the total market cap of its two big firms was worth around $5 billion. Today, if you include AMZN it's "worth" $19 billion!
