I have been using etrade for a year, and lost lots of money because of its slow confirmation or WROST price execution. FOR TODAY: Etrade Quote while SIII trade at 18 3/4 Etrade show: Price: 18 3/4 bid 17 3/4 ask 17 7/8 <-----??? What is this??? Hoilday discount? $1 off the orignal price? One time I placed a limit buy at $18 on IOMG before market open. Somehow, IOMG open at 17 3/4 bid 17 7/8 ask, Etrade did NOT get me the best deal, instead it waited an hour and executed at 18. then send me the message at 1:00pm which is 3 hours later. just one of many examples... NEVER USE MARKET ORDER with Etrade. Market order sometimes take about 30 mins to execute. One time, I tried to cut loss on CAWS: 10:00am REAL TIME DTN at $4 7/8 bid $5 ask 10:00am order placed 5000 market sell. 10:01 - 10:31 price unchanged $5 10:32 drop to 4 3/4 10:36am executed at 4 3/8 Three days ago, I placed market order on CHPS open at 17 1/8 up to 17 1/4 right after first 10000 shares then start the drop I tried to confirm my order but my OPEN ORDER still show open order market buy 4000 CHPS. tried to cancel order: Error. Try to sell 4000 CHPS market (cut loss) ERROR: security not in account I checked my protfolio, it did not show CHPS. I knew somethings wrong AGAIN.. call etrade 1 800 stocks 5 ONHOLD for 20 mins to confirm 4000 executed at 17 1/8. Then at 1:??pm message came said: CHPS 4000 execute at 17 1/8 What kind of broker is this??? using Etrade to trade NASDAQ is a stupid thing to do. So who is making MONEY if the confirmation comes in 2 or 3 hours late? YOU WOULD UNDERSTAND WHAT IS GOING ON IF YOU KNOW NASDAQ.
