AOL-CIS. Absurd!

For openers, AOL's entire system is about as incompatible with
CIS's as you can get. AOL is Stratus running all sorts of home
grown software dating back to 1985. CIS is 300 NT servers running
a near total-re-write of CIS's old DEC PDP systems.

CIS made judgement that to follow $19.95 flat rate was insane;
along with spending 100's of millions on marketing. Why would
it now buy into all of that by merger with AOL? CIS has given
up on AOL's market, except overseas.

There's more; but the talk is IMO just BS rumour mongering.
