Amadeo:

AMTX announced the DSLAM one day before another major Telechoice/xDSL announcement. Two ways one can think of this:

Bad Way.... AMTX needed some news to head off a big announcement from another vendor... We knew that AMTX had a DSLAM, thanks to Jim W. and Pats international research. I'm really surprised that AMTX moved 2+ points on the DSLAM announcement. In fact I purchased more WSTL at 18.125 when AMTX was still around 12.... Oh well, just one more nail in my coffin... its only money!

Good Way.... AMTX will be part of some additional news tomorrow... maybe with CSCO as a partner. CSCO is the #2 vendor in remote solutions... ASND is #1. I tend to agree 'now' that CSCO will not purchase AMTX, but rather partner with them. At least this is what I'm hoping for.

<<LA QUINTA, Calif., Jan 20 (Reuter) - Pacific Bell CEO David Dorman said the company will launch Asynchronous Digital Subscriber Loop (ADSL) at ten of its central offices starting in September, with full rollout planned in 1998.>>

OK.... AMTX/MOT has until September to have a Mass Production solution ready. Isn't Pacific Telesis testing WSTL modems now??... WSTL should ahve their DMT solution ready also... ASND should have their DMT solution "ADI" ready.
