The problem is, possibly, that he broke the LAW. After swearing to tell the truth, he lied! How do we tell our children that it is OK to swear to tell the truth, and then lie, and then get caught, and go on unpunished! What would be the point of ever telling the truth? Tell 'em what they want to hear. Who cares?
If you or I had done what he has done, we would be residing in the 'Gray Bar Hotel' for a while! But as long as the economy is good, we should let King Bill off the hook? I am having a problem with 'dual standards' here. If in January, Bill had said Monica hummed him and it was good, and all the rest of you BOZOs are jealous, nothing would have happened. It isn't the 'hum', it is the LIE! I am not saying that every one that I know would not have done the same thing, but if we were caught, there would be HELL to pay, especially if there was the kind of age difference that there exists between Bill and Monica, and the difference in the 'power' of the position! I also realize that Monica set off the Washington to 'climb' the ladder, so to speak.
