I agree that the potential exists to eliminate much of the competition in the "cut throat" bidding, however, OEMs have been reluctant to go with sole source suppliers. Also some of the OEMs are manufacturing their own shafts or doing their own shaft R&D (Callaway (R&D), Cobra/Titleist(Mfg - West Coast Composites)). Who would you say are Aldila's biggest competitors at this point? Also... how will their China operation be of market benefit to them, other than low labor and operating costs. I believe that the club manufacturers require that club assembly occur only at their facilities. I do not know of any US golf companies with assembly plants in China or outside the US.
